After experiencing a profound family trauma in 2023 and subsequently being diagnosed with CPTSD and Complex Trauma, I found myself needing to revisit and apply much of my previous mental health training. As a nationally certified victims advocate with certifications in diverse areas of psychology (including PTSD and Trauma-Informed Care), I already possessed a strong foundation. However, I was still struggling to move forward.

My healing journey took an unexpected turn when I also became a victim of narcissistic emotional abuse. Feeling lost and overwhelmed, I discovered the work of Mel Robbins. Immediately, her podcasts resonated deeply. Her practical strategies and relatable approach were instrumental in reigniting my cognitive behavioral skills and jumpstarting my recovery.

🤓Have you ever just felt like every thing you do is HARD. That you try with all your best human intentions to do things 'right' and put in all your effort - only to end up confused about why it isn't working?
What I have learned - is that even in the hardest of times? When you are going the 'Right Way' - stresses land differently. Emotions land differently. Patience is more affordable.
I used to ask myself when I was stressed out - "Have I done everything in my human capability to the best of my ability for this situation?" - If the answer was yes? Then I accepted everything else was out of my control. I can't tell you how many times my answer actually ended up being no - and leading me to clarity while exterminating my confusion.
