The one big even I remember happening during this time period was August 31. 1997. I'm surprised that I actually remember it. I wouldn't, I'm sure, if it hadn't been for how extremely upset it had made my mother. Princess Diana had fled from the paparazzi's and the result was a high speed car crash inside of a tunnel in Paris, France. She and her driver perished as a result and the world was beside itself.
